Fine Jewelry, Clothing and Quilt Work
July 11th - August 31st
Opening Reception, Friday July 11th, 5-9 pm
Michelle Riley has been playing with beads since she was 12 years old. A natural love of color and texture as well as the endless combinations beads provide has kept her exploring them as a medium. Recently she has been working with Precious Metal Clay, creating her own fine silver components to use in her jewelry.
In order to satisfy her love of color and pattern, Lynn Mattingly has been cutting up fabric and sewing the pieces together for thirty odd years. She and her sewing machine are best friends. Quilts, pillows, and cell phone cases, all usable, colorful and tactile will fill this show.
Elisabeth Delehaunty creates unique garments which are wearable collages made of vintage & recycled fabrics & findings. Recycling is central to her work. She starts with staples of the American wardrobe – denim, t-shirts, wool – then uses her primo stash of vintage ingredients to create surprising and playful combinations. The result is lively, highly functional pieces made from ingredients that are on their (at least!) second time around.
